Jim Salengo, Executive Director of DSIC said, “We are proud to announce this new grant and the projects that will be funded with our last grant. This year’s funding will help us improve the Lower Union Street and Jay Street corridors. The new grant will help us jump start efforts to revitalize Lower State Street in conjunction with Metroplex.”
Ray Gillen Metroplex Chair, “This funding is part of our overall effort to compete for and win State and Federal grant dollars and bring this funding back to Schenectady County to help our revitalization efforts. The Main Street program is a great resource to help renovate buildings for mixed use downtown including ground floor retail tenants and very nice residential units on upper floors.”
The DSIC will be reaching out to help property owners apply for grant dollars within the new target area in the coming months. The Main Street program targets key corridors for revitalization efforts.
